Club Outings and Events

EPMGS holds outings for our members that provide opportunities to get outdoors, learn, and occasionally get geological specimens while enjoying the company of fellow rockhounds.  Outings typically require some travel of over an hour. We go in a convoy as much as we can. Our events are led by individuals with expertise in the subjects of interest for the trip.  Some outings may be physically demanding including hikes to various rock formations, water areas and even mines. At most outings the group may split up with some individuals staying near the parking area and others hiking some distance away.  Some outings are at locations where specimens may not be kept but the event provides education about the geology of the area and an opportunity to take unique photos.
